The Insert I/O plugin we should have had since the beginning.
What it does
Patchbay is the I/O insert plugin I needed for long time. It measures and compensates for your outboard's round-trip latency automatically, routes audio across different interfaces when cables are connected, and makes any piece of hardware fully dry/wet and M/S compatible — on top of many other things that were not possible before.
Pro Tools' native I/O insert is... let's say limited. You can't even bypass it (you have to deactivate it) and you can't even pair I/O that are not close to each other AND not in odd/even order (1-2, 3-4 etc.).
Patchbay can do so much more. Any input/output you want (why not Input 1 L / Input 14 R for example). With a 3 stages PING feature, it calculates your outboard latency and compensates for it in real time (the 3 PING avoids potential calculation error, to override ProTools hectic behavior), links send and return gain to drive into your gear (you can even automate that!), pre-emphasis/de-emphasis EQ to help your gear react more like you would want it to be. Polarity, phase aligment tool, M/S, you can even use Patchbay on your Masterbus and route it to your laptop speakers for a quick check without having to change ProTools I/O and wait for the session to reload.

Shape the signal before and after your hardware. Can sometimes save you from having to buy the sidechain high-pass filter version of your gear ;).

Fine-tuned phase alignment tool and polarity switch in case of needs (useful when driving transformers for example).

A basic gain match function to avoid getting fooled by loudness and help gain staging when using dry/wet.

Customizable GUI
You can make it bigger, smaller, change the colors, the contrast, the brightness of eveything. You can also change the fonts. You can even choose different models of knobs. GUI is not my forte but at least everyone can pick its favorite ugly one :).

No subscription. No crazy price fluctuations, your license is issued personally, works offline permanently, and will still work in ten years whether or not Wheeliemix Plugins still exists.

Licensing

Install the trial, READ THE READ ME FILE, especially if you have some of the newer Mac OSX (de-quanrantine the plugin makes it easier to install). Licenses are issued "by hand" and I will authorize all licenses myself, no mass distribution, no automation, nothing big.

Click on the "K" icon in the plugin. Copy your machine ID. Go to the Checkout page. Copy your Machine ID, name and email (no spam, this is just to send the license), click "purchase" and wait for the license to arrive in your email.

As fast as humanly possible, your unique activation code is generated by hand, signed to your machine, and emailed directly to you then.

Open Patchbay, click on the "K" icon, copy your code, click activate. The plugin runs fully offline from that moment — permanently. And voilà.
